Bernard Rives was born 1947 in Carcassonne (France). He studied in the High School of Photography in Köln (Germany). Afterwards he moved to Barcelona where he discovered the need of shaping up his own Sculptures. His first exhibited sculpture won the Paul Ricards Foundation first award. Stimulated by this experience and the good results he got, he keeps on creating and shaping sculptures full of sensuality and elegance moving away from contemporary abstraction and immersing with passion into a new figurative way.
„Mutine“ and „Tango“ are some of his most significant creations and “La paraeja” and “La mujer” there are his protagonists. But he also represent the “Kingdom of the animals” with his national Bull “Olé Olé”, the elegance of the horse “Yearling” or the balance with the cat “Misty”.
