Tibia fusus, common name Spindle tibia or Shinbone Tibia Gastropod, is a species of snail, a marine gastropod mollusc in the family Strombidae.
They usually live in tropical waters on the high seas where there is a lot of sand, at depths of 5 to 50 m. This species is widespread in the eastern Indian Ocean and western Pacific, from Indochina, the China Sea, southern Japan, and the Philippines to the Banda Sea, Indonesia, Australia, and Oceania.
Tibia fusus shells can reach a length of 15 to 31 centimeters (5.9 to 12.2 in) (including the long siphonal canal), with a typical length of 23 cm (9 in). Through this impressive hollow tube, somewhat curved at its end, the animal, buried deep in the sand, draws its siphon to take in breathing water and food.These shells are large, spindle-shaped with moderately convex turns and a canal siphonal extremely long, slender and slightly curved. The basic color ranges from straw yellow to reddish beige. The opening is oval and white inside, with 6 finger-like growths on the outer lip.
